You have Downloaded the Source from Connect and now youlike to install R3, so you have a Problem you need a SP2 Eval installation from SCCM 2007, and you have a Windows 2008 Server R2 Edition wiht a SQL 2008 Sp1, so this is a x64 Enviroment 🙂
When you Download the SCCM R3 Sources you have a Patch inside (SCCM2007-SP2-KB977384Beta-X86-ENU.msi) the Zip-File, install this on a x64 Server, haha
the wizard takes ok->ok blabla -> install, and now it hangs the progressbar shows just a little work, and the hangs, so go to Task-Explorer open and search the msiexec.exe Process, kill this one with youre User-Credentials, is it possible that the syste start this again, don’t kill them again!
In the Tasks “kill Task” (SCCM2007-SP2-KB977384Beta-X86-ENU) well, now you can install the R3 msi over splash.hta, in background works the msiexec and install the patch finish.
