SCCM 2012 SP1 Capturing Tasksequence problem

There are a Problem to create a capturing Tasksequence from the console-wizard.

If you open in the console the create a Tasksequence Wizard and select the “Build and capture a reference operating system image” comes to a problem if you would select a Package in “Specify the Windows operating system image and installation information”.

But first this: You imported a Win7/8 DVD as source in the console under the “Opration System Installer”. This “Image”/Source” should be available for the capturing Tasksequence. (normaly)

Backto the Wizard, you select Brows and you will find the “Source” for this, but there is no source! Why?

This is a problem that are also in SP1 beta sources 😉

So you have to create a “Fake”-Image first that you can successful finish the Wizard!
Got back to the console and Import a “Operating System Image” (a *.WIM File), so you can discrpe this as a Fake Image.

After that you see in the Wizard a Image that you can select, now you can finish the Wizard! After this you have to Edit the Tasksequnece and Change in the Step “Apply Operating System Image” from the “Apply operationg system  from a captured image” to “Apply operating system from an orginal installation source” and select there your Sources that you imported to the “operating system Installers”

Please test it and then use it, that you can see the Wizard Problem.

Thank you 😉
