How to configure SCCM 2012 for Use with this tool

Two steps to Use the Tool

  1. Create the WebService it calls CMService in the IIS on a Server
  2. Create the WebSite it calls SCCMWeb on the Same IIS Server as the WebService is crated

(The tool is tested on Server 2008R2, Server 2012 and “Server 2012R2 preview”, that means IIS 7/8)

Download:
Download the OSD WebPortal RC1.ZIP, after that go to the properties of the ZIP and “Unblock” it. After that extract it to a temporary folder.

Step 1

  1. Go to the folder where you’ve extracted the zip file and copy the folder “OSDWebService” into the directory “C:\inetpub\wwwroot\”
  2. Open the IIS Console and click on “Application Pools” -> “Add Application Pool…”
    • Name: OSDWebService
    • .NET Framework Version: .NET Framework v4.0.x
    • Confirm with “OK”
  3. Open up the properties of the newly generated application and select “Advanced Settings…”.
  4. In there change the Identity to “LocalSystem”.
  5. Open the default web site and have a look for the folder OSDWebService. Select “Convert to Application”
  6. Change the Application pool to “OSDWebService”.
  7. Mark the website OSDWebService and on “IIS\Authentication” disable “Anonymus Authentication” and enable “Windows Authentication”
  8. Mark the website OSDWebService and on “IIS\Default Document” Add… “CMService.asmx”
  9. Mark the website OSDWebService and on “ASP.NET\Application Settings”
    • DDRPath: “<Install Drive Letter for SCCM>\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\auth\ddm.box” (Example: “D:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\auth\ddm.box”)
    • SiteCode: “<SCCM Site Code>” (Example: S01)
    • SMSProvider: “<Your SCCM PrimarySite Server>” (Example: Server01)

Step 2

  1. Go to the folder where you’ve extracted the zip file and copy the folder “OSDWebPortal” into the directory “C:\inetpub\”
  2. Navigate to the folder “C:\inetpub\OSDWebPortal\Scripts”
    • Modify the permissions -> Add the “IIS_IUSRS” and select “Write”
    • Confirm with “OK”
  3. Open the default website and select “Add Application…”
    • Alias: OSDWebPortal
    • Application pool: Select DefaultAppPool
      (For Server 2008R2: the DeafaultAppPool is set to .NET Framework v.2.x, Change it to v4.0.x)
    • Physical path: “C:\inetpub\OSDWebPortal”
    • Confirm with “OK”
  4. Mark the website OSDWebPortal and on “IIS\Authentication” disable “Anonymus Authentication” and enable “Windows Authentication”
  5. Open the website -> Settings (http://localhost/OSDWebPortal/)
  6. Save
    (if it’s not working, follow these steps: Mark the WebSite OSDWebPortal in IIS-Console and on “ASP.NET\Application Settings”

    • set -> SccmSvcDomain
    • set -> SccmSvcUrl
    • set -> SccmSvcUser
    • set -> SccmSvcPassword)
